Are you wondering who we are and WHY we are trying to get YOUR ATTENTION?

We are a small group of locals who are committed to improving access to local foods.

We are not a national corporation trying to fake our way into the "local" scene

We are not a group of greedy businessmen targeting a "local" niche demographic in order to improve profit margins.

I am Thomas Husmann, Co-Owner and Manager of Olympia Local Foods and owner of Tachira Farm. I attended Griffin Elementary School and Capital high School. I spent a little time at SPSCC and Evergreen, but have to give special thanks to Capital Business Machines for providing me with an educational opportunity of a lifetime.

My background is in Network Engineering and Web Design and I own a do-it-yourself website builder business called iBuilt.net. I have relied upon my background in process engineering to develop the Oly Foods approach. I believe that we can bring local foods into the mainstream by making the prices more competitive and through improved convenience. With your support, we can make buying local as easy and affordable as ordering pizza.

Celia Husmann is my "super" wife. She came to Olympia from Sacramento, CA to learn about early childhood education at the Evergreen State College. Celia is a nurturer by nature, her kindness and care add to our service, ensuring that each customer is taken care of. Celia is the backbone of Oly Foods, making it possible to do what we do. Between customer relations, bookeeping, marketing and being a mom, I don't know how she keeps it all together.



We have partnered with John and Lynette of Olympia Wood Flooring Supply and Christopherson Wood Floors. They have shown us their full support by providing us with a warehouse and sorting facility free of charge. Their ongoing commitment to helping make local foods accessible makes it possible for us to continue to offer the best prices in town.
